Every you get says to "see your doctor before" you start using the product.Of course no one really does, and if they did it would probably be a stupid appointment. One where you would be advised against any nutritutional supplement, and told to take it easy with any exercise. There is a reason to see your doctor before you start a diet or exercise program. Your body's metabolism might be out of whack and changes to your diet and exercise might not help you. That is not to say that you shouldn't get a reasonable amount of exercise and eat a healthy diet. But you should have your Adrenals and Thyroid checked if you are overweight or regularly feel out of sorts. Now the trick is that the Thyroid tests are common. However, if your adreanals are weak, no amount of thyroid hormones will help you. So go see your Doctor, get your adrenals checked and when you have them in order, get your thyroid checked. Edward p.s. don't even think about taking thyroid hormones for weight loss except under the direction of a doctor related to a thyroid issue. Here are some great resources.

Dieting is now an obsession with most and in order to reduce calories people are indulging in bad dieting habits. Diet Regimes like 3-Hour diet, Abs Diet, Atkins Diet, Bob Greene Diet, Cabbage Soup Diet, and Blood Type Diet that you can choose from.

A diet should not be for weight loss. A diet should be for health! If you are healthy then you have no worries about your weight.Consider everything you shovel or pour into your mouth. Is it FOOD or it is artificial, sugar and chemical laced stuff that came out of a plastic wrap? The only aisle you should spend any time in at the grocery store is the isle that doesn't offer any kind of preprepared "food" stuff.. that pretty much limits you to the fresh fruits and veggies!
you have a point there. but its okay to eat food made of prepared stuff.. but also a healthy way of living and exercise can make up for the unhealthy foods you eat.

Not like... have you read the Sunfood Diet Book... the author suggestions that it takes 1 month of each 100% pure and natural food (raw, uncooked, unprocessed, organic) to make up for each year of your life...So if you are 48.. you have to eat that way for 4 years straight to get your body cleaned out and in shape. So don't think you can nibble on a few healthy bits a couple times a month and chow down on the junk the rest of the time... well.. you can because you probably like the idea of spending time sick in the hospital.
what does eating regular foods have to do with being sick in the hospital? i eat pizza, greasy fried chicken, and all sorts of junk food. im not in the hospital. im in shape. i dont have to be a health nut to live happily.. i LOVE my unhealthy junk food!

Look at health care spending... look at the weight of Americans... look at the mental health issues.... Look at general eating trends! Once you get sick it will be mush harder to get well.. than it would have been not to get sick in the first place!

anyone going on a new diet, or anyone who is going to start taking any supplements of any kind should contact their doctor first and make sure they are safe to take, and not a risk to your health.

Well, life is made out of free will. We are what we eat but this doesn't mean that we should forget ourselves in the process. I believe that one should not be constrained by the strict rules of diet. why? Because it takes out the joys of life but this doesn't mean that we should eat whatever we like. Sounds confusing but it is not. What kind of life will you live if you just eat apples or your life (figuratively speaking), it maybe healthy but it doesn't hurt to try out meat or other type of fruits every now and then right? Live life to the fullest but not to the "fool"est.
Maybe you can't know joy or free will until you get all the poison, unnatural hormones and chemicals out of your body.Is joy and happiness sucking down an coca cola and "enjoying" the "flavor" or the bubbles in your throat or the acid eating away at your teeth? Or is joy and happiness the true free will you experience when your body and mind isn't overwhelmed by an artificial overload? I think there are very few people in the world that could honestly answer that question.

I think the best things to consider if you are really planning to live towards a healthy is discipline, detemination, diet, decision. You have to seek the method that fits you perfectly whether if its take pills, diet, exercise. Some may tell you that "this thing time worked for me, I might work for you too", but this not right 'cause everyone of us is unique and what worked for your friend might no work for you at all.

Terry you said "A diet should not be for weight loss. A diet should be for health!" If someone is over weight are you saying you should not diet to lose weight but to be healthy but what if you need to lose weight to be healthy?
I am saying that when you are healthy your weight till take care of it self... so you don't need to try and loose (or gain) weight. Getting healthy is all you need to do to "loose weight".There are many ways to loose weight without getting healthy and that is often a temporary weight lose, and often is worse because in the end you are fatter than when you started.

Sorry that makes a lot more since to me then it did the first time around.

These forums depress me sometimes, I get on for support but so much talk about losing weight just makes me sad.
Don't be sad Alex. Starting a diet isn't supposed to be for people around you but for yourself alone. To be healthy no matter if you want to lose or gain weight. Dieting is all about doing and eating the appropriate things that will lift you health status. You should also consult a dietitian and doctor to assess your situation and give the best method that you can start with. There is no real general diet plan not all that worked for someone will work you so you have to search for the right fit for you.

Here is what I have to say to all this, how about getting liposuction! This way you do not have to worry about eating right and exercise and blah blah blah, and if you want to pig out you can. I am 23, and have been a size 5 all my life, except when I was pregnant, and than 2 weeks later (thanks to liposuction) I was a size 5 again! I love being able to eat all the junk food I want!
Wow Ali, I cant believe you would even suggest that. Thats whats wrong with the world today is people like you. Thats such a shame, here is a suggestion, how about giving all that money you waste on liposuction to a good charity for aids or cancer research. You are so superficial and its so sad. • Page 1 (Original Post) • Page 2 (Newest Replies) •
