Why do you drink Soda Pop?

a) Because it is good for you?

b) Because it tastes good?

c) Because you are addicted.

The only possible answer is c. What is Soda Pop? It is either colored water with artifical flavor, lots of sugar and chemicals, or the same without sugar and even more chemicals.

The usual result of drinking a soda pop is more thirst and the desire for another! We know who loves your addiction and the jingle in their pockets from it.

When you start a diet, you switch to the diet pop... what a cruel joke on your body (and wallet).

Try something that is good for you for once. You might find that flavor you claimed to like in answer b above, is really not so good once you've experienced real food for a while!

Yeah I would say C. Pop is so addicting. I have about 5 2-litres in the house now and about every hour or so Im waking to the store for a can. Its crazy. it sort of became habbit. I was buying it so much I would get boresd and buy pop just to buy it. Now I have to wean myself off of it.

I remember in high school we would drink coca-cola... as much as we bought we'd drink in an evening... 6 pack... 8 pack... 12 pack.. full case... etc. Recently, my wife visited the United States for the first time and commented on how large the pops are at fast food restaruants... as least twice the size she is used to.

What does all this (or any soda do for us)? I believe it does nothing.... except make us more thirsty and more thirsty for more pop!

I can't imagine drinking 8 or 12 bottles of water in an evening! But it's nothing to drink that much soda.

The first step to successful dieting is coming to grips with our addictions and deciding if we eat/drink to serve our bodies need to nutrition or to feed our addictions.

If we ate no food, we'd die. If we drank no soda pop we might just feel better!

After you've stopped drinking soda for a while you'll find it tastes aweful and makes you feel bad when you do have one.

Huh? I have drank soda pops every once in a while but I don't recommend it. Some soda pops are really nice to your tongue, but have you asked yourself if whether they are nice for the body?

Many people say they eat (and drink) to enjoy life... that is they stuff their mouthes with whatever junk they find that "tastes" and "looks" good. They cringe when they see someone eating a fresh vegetable or fruit. "How can you enjoy life when you eat such disgusting food?"

Look at America. It is getting FAT and UNHEALTHY. Look at what we eat! The answer is simple... if being FAT and UNHEALTHY is how you want to "enjoy" life then go ahead and stuff your face with all this unnatural stuff that sparkles on your tongue.. so you can be riddled with cancer and bed ridden in pain for the last years of your life....

Or... think about whether what you are shoveling in is: 1) harmful, 2) neutral or 3) beneficial to your body. Once you've arrived at #3 for each and every bite or sip... then you will learn what it really is to enjoy life.

i drink soda pop.. i dont see anything wrong with drinking it.. im not addicted. i can quit at anytime.. it tastes good and i enjoy drinking it.. NOW one thing that i am addicted to is energy drinks! now you want to talk about a drink not being healthy.. thats the one.. i know the risks but i also am not a freak about what i drink so i could care less about it! go to my link and get yourself some AMP!! you'll love it!

Soda pop should be referred to as "Nectar of the Devil".

"it tastes good and i enjoy drinking it.. "

No doubt... but does it add anything nutritionally to your body? No! Does it add stuff that is not beneficial to your body? Yes!

It may be less harmful than your "Energy Drink" and you might not notice any ill effects from either... but the cumulative effect just compounds the "health care crisis"!

Did you try Amp like I suggested? YUM! Anyhow, people eat and drink things everyday that aren't exactly "nutritional". But thats the way it is.. Just because pop is so called "bad", doesn't mean you should swear it off.. Sitting on your ass all day, staring into the computer and searching the internet isn't to healthy for you either but you still do it don't you. My point! Thats called being hypocritical! Don't tell someone that something is the "Nectar of the Devil" when your doing something not so healthy yourself. Can you take that all in?

Comment #16 George from Salt Lake City, Utah (Contact Member) -

How can you compare expanding your mind with knowledge and dumping chemicals into your body?

You can enjoy a soda pop but not to the point of addiction.

Is that a website I saw up there advertising about their soda?

Here we are discussing about addicyion on Soda Pop and here are other people not helping people get over the addiction by advertising it here. Tsk Tsk Tsk...

What is the point of Soda Pop?

An infusion of sugar in your blood? (or chemicals for diet pop)?

To quench your thirst? Try this experiment. On afternoon grab 12 bottles of soda pop and set them next to you when you are doing to be working on the computer or watch TV for a couple hours.

See how many you consume.

Another afternoon set 12 bottles of water next to you and compare the results.

I bet you'll find that the soda pop makes you thirsty and you consume many bottles. While the water is quite satisfying and you don't drink very much.

So even within a few hours you are basically addicted to soda pop!

The *ONLY* benefit I see to the soda pop is for the shareholders of the soda pop companies!

You are absolutely right Martin! The natural tendency of the body upon the intake of sugar is to get thirsty causing one to keep wanting more of the product ergo buying more of it making the pockets of the wise-cracking soda and bottling corporation full with the ones they duped (Hey! That includes me as well! X< )

you are all crazy.. First of all, "bum bum face" and "im stupid don't publish", do you not have anything better to do with your time than act like idiots in an informational forum? Then Kabir, "please don't drink pop"? Why not? All you people who swear off pop and say don't drink it. Get real. You eat things that aren't always healthy.. Its life. Get over it.

Well, guess who joined the legions of crazy here? It is you dustin. By merely participating here you have proved your insane hahaha. Well, it is a discussion so don't expect a one sided view on a topic. Well, I've read some of their posts and the are not completely against it, just in moderation but not to the point of addiction. Guess that's the point of some, I don't know about the rest. Looks like you're living you're life to the foolest huh, uh! I mean fullest. There is nothing wrong about that. I, myself am not restricted to these kinds of health warnings and gimmicks. No regrets.

Comment #22 George from Salt Lake City, Utah (Contact Member) -

I am completely again soda pop. Even one drop! Maybe 1 drop won't hurt you... but it won't gain you anything... so what's the point?!?!

I don't mind drinking pop when there is nothing else around but for the most part I don't like it. I would rather be drinking juice or water.

There is no doubt in my mind that soda is good for you. It has been proven in recent studies all over thew world that it isn't healthy for you and you should limit the intake of soda.
